I’ve 1,000′s video guides of museums, churches, hotels, bars, shops, monuments… nearly 300 of Bologna (Italy) alone. I’m trying to develop the model for other cities so users can watch them for free while walking along the street, sitting in cafes via mobile/wifi. They are meant to be informative, interesting, short and easy to follow. If anyone is interested in exploring this venture I would be willing to help them so we can create a wikipedia type of site which is much more fun than having to flick through and carry a huge travel book everywhere! Plus, its the future. Just watch some of my videos on www.iguidez.com to get an idea. Best of all, you don’t need expensive equipment and you’ll eventually start to get into everywhere for free and even get the odd free drink or lunch!!
#update: QR codes (Quick Reader) are now being placed outside businesses in Bologna who have already got videos online therefore, letting
tourists and potential clients “inside” even if their shop/bar/museum is closed. It also lets people share links easy with their friends via email which gives even more publicity for a business.
We will be adding more QR codes each week so watch out when walking around the city centre!
